A Classical Start

Playing with senses

I'm pleasantly touched by this simple (yet great) idea of reviewing a traditional game or toy and giving it this extra dimension of sensory perception.
Makiko Shinoda graduated with Material Teddy (to stimulate cognitive development) and now she's exhibiting Playing with Senses (a perceptible chess game) at Toegepast 17 in Z33 (BE).

Oliver Jeffers was here

After a monography Neither Here Nor There published past spring, there is now the exhibition Here or There about the work of illustrator/painter Oliver Jeffers. I'm a big fan of his work as an illustrator (My first book of him I bought at the airport returning from a wonderful roadtrip in Canada, I thought the book had some Canada spirit and it still has good memories attached to it. I even named one of my Pinterest boards to it :)) but didn't now his paintings, definitely worth the discovery.
So if you are in/going to Berlin, consider to pay a visit to the Gestalten shop and the exhibition...

Art History

Already 2 weeks ago I went to an exhibition of Sol Lewitt in M Leuven and was very impressed by the gigantic and detailed wall drawings. Art students reproduced these well known, geometric art pieces in mostly basic colours guided by the Lewitt Studio. In collaboration with a similar exhibition in Centre Pompidou in Metz were only black&white wall drawings are shown. And according the images, this one looks worth it as well...
